Rosemary Lawrence 2017

As a relatively new member of LWV Mpls, Rosemary agreed to become chair/co-chair of LWV Mpls’ Election Services project, working with the city of Minneapolis’ Election and Voter Services department providing “league volunteers” who assist the city on Election Day. This project provides dozens of reliable and dedicated individuals each year for specific Election Day projects, for which the city pays the league; making this a good government project as well as a fundraiser for the league.

Rosemary has spent hundreds of hours during her tenure working out the parameters and specifics of the project with Minneapolis’ Election and Voter Services staff and then recruiting, communicating with, and training dozens of volunteers each year. And, fortunately, she continues to lead the project.

Rosemary’s skills shine in this project – She is great with people and always looks on the positive side. She creatively engages new people in the project. She has negotiated with the Minneapolis Election & Voters’ Service Department as the city’s leadership of the project and the project itself changed. She graciously receives suggestions from long time members of League (like me) while meeting the requirements of the city.

Rosemary is always ready with praise and thanks for the efforts of volunteers she recruits and supervises.

And, this is only one of Rosemary’s volunteer positions with LWV Mpls.
