A Note to our Minneapolis Community

DSCN4231

The League of Women Voters Minneapolis stands with the Black Lives Matter movement. As the trial of Derek Chauvin begins, we are painfully aware of the heartache, trauma, anxiety, and fear that once again envelop our city.

The First Amendment of the United States Constitution gives people the right to peacefully protest. The League of Women Voters Minneapolis strongly supports peaceful protest and condemns any and all violence against protestors. We further strongly condemn insurrection and infiltration by homegrown terrorists and white supremacy groups.
